Tories say little about selection of candidates

The Conservative Party in Congleton was staying tight-lipped this week after the Chronicle was told of a botched selection process that forced sitting councillors to switch seats for Cheshire East Council elections today (Thursday).
The Chronicle understands that a number of Conservatives in the Congleton branch of the party were unhappy with how the selection process was handled, with at least two complaints lodged with branch chairman Coun Glen Williams.
