Town council’s copter qualms don’t take off
Noise pollution and the threat to greenbelt were the considerations when town councillors discussed a planning application for a helipad at a Buglawton pub.
The landing pad is part of an application by Life and Soul Ltd — the company behind Congleton’s DV8 Bar and Lounge and Rumba — for permission to revamp the Robin Hood pub in Buglawton.
At a Planning Committee meeting at Congleton Town Hall on Thursday, town councillors heard that the application also included the change of use of an ancillary store to an ancillary restaurant with a single-storey rear extension, the erection of 2.5m acoustic fencing and alterations to the car park.
