Trouble at park falls to three-year low
Anti-social behaviour in Congleton Park has fallen to a three-year low, according to Cheshire police.
Incidents at the park still make up around a quarter of police callouts each year, with nearby residents reporting alcohol-fuelled violence in the area more recently.
In the past year, police have been called to the park 18 times, but only four of those incidents have related to anti-social behaviour. This makes for stark comparison with figures for previous years. Between August 2017 and July 2018, police attended 32 incidents in the park, eight of which related to anti-social behaviour; and for the same period a year earlier, police were called 73 times, of which 17 incidents concerned anti-social behaviour.
