‘Utter madness’: drivers speeding outside school
Councillors have labelled new findings by Lower Heath’s speedwatch group “utter madness”, after a one-hour study found more than 100 vehicles speeding along Manchester Road.
Volunteers at the “increasingly worried” speedwatch team work in conjunction with Cheshire police to monitor those breaking the 30mph limit. As a result of one of their recent “watches”, the group have revealed that 100 drivers will be receiving speedwatch letters.
Liberal Democrat Robert Hemsley, new on the town council, criticised the limit-breaking and called the group’s findings “eye-opening”.
