Warn the elderly about fraudsters
Police have warned people to make elderly family members and neighbours aware of phone scammers.
Cold-call scams, known as vishing, involve fraudsters deceiving people into believing they are speaking to a police officer, a member of bank staff or a representative of another trusted company.
They can sound convincing, as they can both fake a telephone number on a screen and find out basic bank and personal details.
