Armistice full bell peal to be marked with a plaque
A plaque is to be installed at a church to commemorate the ringing of the bells that marked the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1.
The plaque will be placed in the bell tower of St Mary’s Church in Sandbach as a way of remembering the first full peal — which is an extended sequence of bell ringing — to take place in the church since 1973.
The peal took place on 11th November and lasted a total of two hours and 55 minutes to mark the centenary of the Armistice.
