Asbestos-ridden MoD site should be ‘demolished’
A property developer has claimed the local economy would gain a “multi-million pound boost” if its application to knock down a “dangerous” former ministry of defence office building in Holmes Chapel was to be approved.
The application to demolish the three connected buildings on the current site on Twemlow Lane and build a complex comprising 14 offices with car parking was put forward by Note House Ltd last Monday.
The buildings were originally used as offices at the Twemlow Lane entrance to the former MoD fuel depot, but have been described as “unfit for human occupation” by Note House.
