British Empire Medal for Reg
A 92-year-old Sandbach man received the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours for his outstanding contribution to the local community.
Former soldier Reg Dunning, of Park Lane, was recognised for his work as a school governor, his contribution to the church and his role as parade marshal for over 60 years on Remembrance Day and Armed Forces Day.
Mr Dunning also helped re-establish the Old Sandbachians RUFC after the Second World War and has previously been chairman of Sandbach Round Table and president of Sandbach 41 Club, of which he is still a member.
