‘Bulky’ shops and flats a ‘horrifying’ proposal
Plans for six new town centre shops and 14 apartments have been recommended for rejection by town councillors due to the “frightening view” it would impose on the area.
Developer Mr Bourne, of Alsager, has lodged the plans on Brookhouse Road, Sandbach, which his application said would act as a “transition” between the town centre and Waitrose and B&M by Old Mill Road in Sandbach.
The three-storey development will consist of 14 apartments, set above the six retail units in a conservation area.
