Cancer fundraising trek to Everest ready to go
A Sandbach woman and her group of friends and family are just a month away from trekking from Everest base camp as part of ongoing fundraising efforts for a charity that tackles a rare form of cancer that she has had.
On 13th February Andrea Sheardown and loyal members of “Andrea’s AMMF Army” will fly out to Kathmandu to start their “epic adventure”. They hope to climb just beyond Everest base camp to Kala Patthar — at a height of 5,645m (18,519 ft).
Mrs Sheardown was diagnosed with a rare and little-known liver cancer — cholangiocarcinoma —in November 2015 and initially given just weeks to live.
