Dad and son beat the heat to finish desert marathon
Sandbach father and son team Paul and Josh Barker completed a two-day marathon in Morocco for the National Deaf Children’s Society.
The Saharan Challenge is a gruelling 56-mile run in scorching 35-degree heat across the hostile terrain of the Draa Valley, spread over two days.
Despite the desert conditions, Josh and Paul set a brisk pace and completed the marathon in less than five and a half hours, finishing in 14th and 15th place out of 96 runners.
