Fishmonger nets victory after business rates battle

A long-established mobile fishmonger in Holmes Chapel has spoken of his gratitude and relief after the Government’s decision to charge him business rates was overturned.
As previously reported in the Chronicle, Sea It Fresh Seafood was asked to start paying business rates and to make back-payments from 2017 by the Valuation Office in July, despite having traded in the village for almost 50 years.
