Government will not be scrutinising quarry plan
Plans for a controversial quarry have not been called in by the Government to the dismay of councillors and residents.
Sibelco has already been given permission to extract 3.3 million tonnes of silica sand in Cranage and Allostcock by Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils.
Approval was granted despite more than 1,000 objections from residents concerned about lorry movements to and from the quarry, its impact on the environment and drainage issues.
