Man charged with causing death on road
Andrew John Tootill, (51), of 44, Hallcroft, Birch Green, Skelmersdale, has been sent for trial to Chester Crown Court charged with causing death by careless driving.
He is charged that on 20th May 2017 at Sproston he caused the death of Andrew Banton, by driving a Mercedes Actros lorry on the M6 motorway northbound without due care and attention.
Cheshire Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Crewe on 19th July, released him on unconditional bail. He is due to appear at crown court on 16th August.
Mr Banton, (53), from Swadlincote in Derbyshire, died after his blue Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a light goods vehicle.
The Birmingham Mail reported that hundreds of bikers joined a convoy in memory Mr Banton, a father of three, with a guard of honour before his funeral at Lichfield Crematorium.
