Market stall rent rises to be suspended until 2020
Sandbach Town Council has voted to freeze the rent prices on stalls in the market hall, despite a recommendation to increase the cost to traders.
The council’s Assets and Services Committee met on Thursday to discuss the issue, after it had been deferred from the previous committee meeting because of a shortage of attendance.
A report was drawn up by the council comparing the prices of its indoor and outdoor market stalls with others across the country. It found that in the case of every type of stall Sandbach charged below the average.
The report recommended freezing the cost of rent for outdoor traders and to increase the amount for indoor traders.
