Message of support after nursery blaze
A nursery counting the cost of a “devastating” fire has reassured that it will “do our very best” to support those who will have been impacted by Saturday’s blaze.
The fire tore through La Maternelle, based at Newark House, a Victorian property at Dalton Court off Middlewich Road, on Saturday.
The alarm was raised shortly before 6am and the first floor blaze destroyed the roof. Nobody was injured
Five fire crews, who used an aerial appliance, were at the scene for 12 hours and had to use breathing apparatus as they tackled the flames. An electrical fault is believed to have started the fire.
Middlewich Road was closed for most of Saturday and reopened at around 6.30pm.
