National awards beckon for mum of autistic boy
An Elworth mother who “fought tooth and nail” to get her autistic son into a specialist school has been nominated for three national awards.
Rebecca Taylor, of Ireland Croft Close, burst into tears at the news that she had been nominated for People’s Autism Hero, Parent/Carer of the year and the Lifetime award at the Autism Hero Awards.
The awards are sponsored by the Anna Kennedy Online Charity, which raises autism awareness and will be held at the Radisson Blu Portman hotel in London on Saturday.
