Permitted drunk to drive a car
A man who allowed a drunk friend to drive a car while uninsured has appeared in court.
William Edward Hardman, (21), of 44, Elm Drive, Holmes Chapel, was fined £120 after he admitted that he permitted Christian Hill to drive a Seat Ibiza on Old Mill Road, Sandbach, with no insurance.
South and East Cheshire Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Crewe on 12th July, put six points on his licence. He was ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £30 surcharge to fund victim services.
Hill, (21), of 2, Grange Lea, Middlewich, admitted driving the car with an alcohol level of 61mcgms of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgms. He also admitted driving with no insurance. He was fined £300 and disqualified from driving for 20 months.
