Police anti-slavery raid at car wash
An anti-slavery check has been carried out at a controversial car wash that has caused disruption to residents in Sandbach.
The check was made last Wednesday at Elvin’s Car Wash on Union Street, which has been trading on the site since October despite having a planning application thrown out by Cheshire East Council.
Police stated after carrying out the check, which took place in the morning, that they found “all was in order”.
Resident of Union Street John Wheeler, (65), said: “It was very quiet. They operate at the end of the street and a lot of the residents around there are in a care centre during the day.
