Sought-after start-ups plan gets green light from town council
Plans for new units on a Sandbach industrial estate could see the arrival of up to eight small businesses as well as job opportunities.
There is “quite a call” for small units like those applied for on the Springvale Industrial Estate, near Ettiley Heath, it was said at a meeting of Sandbach Town Council’s Planning Committee on Monday.
Independent Coun Richard Hovey said: “There should be quite a market for small units like these. I am always getting inquiries about this sort of thing.
“They’re very much starter units – you can imagine someone starting a small craft business there, or maybe even running a taxi company.”
The units would sit at the northern end of Millbuck Way, with the application saying that “the proposals will provide additional employment opportunities for small businesses”.
While the application was registered with Cheshire East Council last month, an identical application was given the go-ahead by the authority back in 2014, but work was not started before the approval expired.
The town councillors agreed they had no objections to the plans and Cheshire East Council is expected to make a final decision on the application by the end of November.
