Stalls rent rise at refurbished market planned
Sandbach councillors will decide tonight (Thursday) whether to increase the rent charged to the indoor market traders, a move that has been challenged by stallholders.
Two reports about the town council’s rent prices will be considered at a meeting of the Assets and Services Committee at The Literary Institute.
The first relates to renting the town hall, which the council has recommended should not be changed.
As for the indoor market prices, a report shows that after comparing the prices of Sandbach charges to similar markets in the country, it was found that Sandbach stallholders are charged below the average amount for every type of stall, both inside and outside.
