Talented footballer died after being hit by train
A talented footballer and sports teacher who “lit up a room when he walked in” died after being hit by a train near to Sandbach Railway Station, an inquest has found.
Jacob Standbridge, (21), of 22, Pring Close, Sandbach, died on 12th October last year. An open conclusion into his death was recorded at the inquest on Friday in Warrington.
The inquest into the death of the former Stoke City youth player — who was known as Jake — heard he had “everything to live for” but his mental health had deteriorated in the final weeks of his life, after he stopped taking anabolic steroids.
