‘Thwarted’ by Cheshire East over funding for town centre
A councillor has claimed that Alsager is being “thwarted” by Cheshire East Council and has branded the borough’s two bids to help transform town centres as a “lack of imagination”.
Cheshire East has submitted bids for the Government’s Future High Street Fund to help revive the fortunes of Crewe and Macclesfield.
It comes after the authority worked with consultants who recommended both towns for the strongest possible bids to meet the Government’s criteria for the funding.
