Tory trio are calling it a day at town council
Some of Sandbach’s longest-standing councillors will not be putting their hats in the ring for the upcoming town council election.
Conservative Couns Barry Moran, Carolyn Lowe and Mike Benson, who have spent a combined 34 years on the town council, will not be standing in the election on May 2nd. However, Coun Benson will be standing as a Tory candidate for Cheshire East in the Sandbach Town ward.
Furthermore, Labour Coun Martin Forster, who was chairman of the working group that oversaw the renovation of the Market Hall, will not be attempting to retain his town council seat.
The councillors have cited family, health and other commitments as their reasons and expressed the difficulty in making predictions for the upcoming election.
