Town ‘forgotten’ in consultation for new bypass
The impact on Sandbach of a new bypass for Middlewich should be given more consideration, councillors have said.
The town council, which approves of the bypass “in principal”, was discussing it at a Planning and Consultation Committee meeting at the Literary Institute on Monday.
Councillors and residents in attendance were concerned that Sandbach had not been consulted enough and that the impacts of additional traffic and traffic pollution in the town had not been taken into account.
The plans proposed by Cheshire East are for a £58m two-way single carriageway road scheme to bypass Middlewich by going between Pochin Way and Booth Lane.
