Woman died after fall at care home, inquest told
A coroner has concluded that a woman who lived at a Sandbach residential home died as a result of the injuries she sustained when she fell in her room.
Joan Rosemary Burke, (85), was a resident of Park House residential care home on Congleton Road.
Mrs Burke moved into the home in February 2019, following a stroke the previous year that left her with mobility issues on her left side, an inquest in Crewe heard on Thursday.
She needed to use a Zimmer frame following the stroke, which resulted in her left side being weaker.
Mrs Burke’s fall occurred in her room at the home on the night of 26th May this year and she died at Leighton Hospital six days later, on 1st June, the inquest was told.
