Elworth moved up into fourth place in the table with a solid win at Newcastle last Saturday. Winning the toss Russ Ballard opted to bat and with Matt Yardley in the side for the absent Chris Regan, the visitors got off to a decent start with Alex Banks (19) and Yardley (14) posting 33 for the first wicket. When the latter was second out with 56 on the board Ballard joined Ed Parrish. Parrish struck five boundaries in his 30 while Ballard batted through the rest of the innings for a not out 58. It was a typically determined effort from the Foxes’ skipper, lasting over two and half hours and including just two boundaries.
