Last Saturday’s performance against Charnock Richard was a good one, offering promise and hope for the rest of the season. Charnock Richard proved to be a strong team, worthy of their elevated position in the League. They thoroughly tested the Bears, whose 3-1 victory was hard-earned (writes Mike McLaughlin).
More victories are urgently needed; a long, unbeaten run would be ideal, as the season moves inexorably onwards and the Bears languish in lower mid-table after a season opening full of optimism and positivity. A few early player departures and arrivals proved largely inconclusive, and we are now in the process of a second stage of rebuilding. Within the last few weeks five new players, all boasting commendable pedigrees, have arrived and the club management structure has been revamped.
