Kate on winning England team

England U15 Schoolgirls — including Congleton’s Kate Oakley —came home from Dublin with the John Read Trophy this weekend.
The girls travelled to Abbotstown to take on the Republic of Ireland U15s.
England started well with Poppy Pritchard calmly slotting home within five minutes.
The hosts fought back with a goal just before the break from Ellie Long.
In a highly-contested second half it was a bit of magic from England midfielder Rebecca Ferguson that broke the deadlock with a long-range effort into the top corner.
England defended well to hold off the hosts and lift the John Read trophy for England for the first time in four years.
It was their final preparation match before the Bob Docherty Trophy, which takes place at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Shropshire, from 15th to 17th April.
