Pedlow pearler seals win

Despite the rain that fell during Saturday night, the game against Vale Juniors was on (writes Phil Pordes).
The Bach made a confident start, with Josie Pordes putting one inches wide in the first couple of minutes.
Tilda Stanley did the same shortly afterwards, and between the two players, Bach could have been three or four up in the first 15 minutes.
Vale retaliated, but the ball flew over the crossbar, much to the Bach faithful’s relief.
Vale continued to apply pressure and it eventually paid off as they took a 1-0 lead against the run of play.
As the hailstones thundered down from the heavens, the Bach picked themselves up and, following a great through-ball from Stanley, Pordes equalised with a cracker.
The Bach’s strong performance continued into the second half.
Vale were down to 10 men through injury, and they worked hard to keep the scores level.
With an assist from the wind, the Bach took the lead with an absolute pearler from Mia Pedlow, 1-2.
A frenetic run from the back by Maddie Kent and a great pass to Pedlow, and Bach wondered if she was going to grab a second? Unfortunately not, but the effort was stupendous.
All the team played well, with particular strength in midfield from Katie Morrey and Josie Yates. Throw-ins from Amy Williams were incredible, as good as any corner.
When the ref blew the final whistle, the Bach were jubilant.
