Socks appeal for diabetes care
Congleton Lions have been working with Diabetes UK for a number of years and its latest project is collection socks.
Lion David Morris said: “We will be outside Morrisons on Saturday, 11th August between 10am to 2pm ready to receive your donations. What an opportunity to get rid of those unwanted Christmas socks.”
Diabetes UK is supporting a project that focuses on raising awareness of the importance of diabetic foot care and preventing amputations. Any socks donated will be given out to homeless charities after the project has finished.
“All we ask is that they are clean and wearable, in pairs or odd socks – it doesn’t matter!” said Lion Morris.
Only clean, wearable socks can be accepted.
• The next meeting of Congleton Diabetic Friends Group will be on Tuesday, 4th September at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Parish Centre.
