Bach hold off Kettering for bonus point win

SANDBACH RUFC 1ST XV 24 KETTERING 17
(Midlands Premier)
Sandbach secured a five-point home win, despite a late rally from Kettering, as the visitors took advantage of two yellow cards in the last 10 minutes (writes Paddy Davenport).
The win maintains Sandbach in the upper reaches of the league and despite the late drama, they fortunately did not rue a bit of earlier inaccuracy that would certainly have put the game to bed. As it was a bonus point win is always to be welcomed and though there are still areas to work on, it was a decent performance that was once more built on the Bach’s collective spirit and unity.
