Boalloy Running Club

On Sunday, Team Boalloy had a few runners at the Knighton 20, a big race on the road racer’s calendar (writes Kate Beard).
In the men’s competition, Carl Moulton finished 14th overall taking second place in the M40 category in a time of 2.09.52. Dan Hibberd finished 27th in 2.13.49 and David Ratcliffe finished 45th in 2.18.47.
For Boalloy women, Rebecca Lawrence put in a very strong performance, in only her second race of this distance, finishing 107th overall and taking third place in the female senior category in a time of 2.41.07. The women also had a team in the relay competition comprising Nicola Lunt, Helen Wassall and Faye Gaunt. The three members each took a 6.66-mile lap of the 20-mile route, finishing third overall and taking first place in the women’s category in 2.42.39.
Elsewhere, two Boalloy runners competed at Cannock Chase for the annual 10- and five-mile competitions over the difficult and hilly terrain. Alison Sutch took on the gruelling 10-mile race, finishing 83rd overall and third in the V40 category in a time of 1.30.09. 
Kate Beard took part in the five-mile race, finishing 50th overall and taking third in the V35 category in a time of 48.49.
