Congleton Harriers running club

A few Harriers were trying out their 10k pace this week at a couple of different events.
Emma Taylor and Carol Bird competed in the Newcastle 10k. It’s a tough course with the runners having to contend with Black Bank right at the start and, this year, the strong wind didn’t help.
Both Taylor and Bird had fine runs with Taylor finishing 49th out of 460 runners, 3rd lady overall in 40:55 and Bird finishing 91st, 6th lady overall and 1st in her age category in a time of 44:01.
At Tatton Park, Stephen Canning participated in one of the popular monthly 10k races held at the venue. Out of 2,976 runners he finished 186th in 51:17, taking a minute off his previous pb.
