Congleton Harriers running club
Some people will go to any length to run a marathon, but Congleton Harriers’ Martin Sands took that to extremes this week, travelling almost 6,000 miles to compete in the Rio de Janeiro marathon.
A point-to-point race that weaves through the streets, and with beautiful oceans to the right and stunning mountains to the left, makes it one of the more scenic races in the world. Sands finished the challenging run in 4.11.15 (it has been pointed out to Sands that there are easier, more local options on offer).
Two new races on offer this week attracted Harrier participation.
