Congleton Harriers running club
It was the armistice weekend and over in Alderley Edge a group of runners chose to show their Remembrance Day respects in a slightly different manner.
They participated in the inaugural Remembrance Day Run organised by Mike Chambers who, as a veteran, wanted to create an intimate event for families, friends and ex-soldiers (writes Nick Budd).
Runners of all ages and abilities assembled around 10am just across from Alderley Edge train station to the sounds of a lone bagpipe player before setting off up the roads in a well marshalled group behind a remembrance banner to the top of Alderley Edge.
