Congleton Lawn Tennis Club
New head coach Craig Leese has launched a number of new sessions at Congleton Tennis Club.
Coffee and tennis sessions run on Monday and Thursday mornings from 11am to noon. They comprise some light coaching tips while playing doubles and are followed by coffee and cake in the clubhouse.
Team coaching sessions have also started: women’s coaching takes place on Tuesdays from 7-8pm, men’s on Thursdays from 6-7pm.
Both focus largely on tactics and positioning with some technical pointers. All sessions cost £5 per player on a pay and play basis. Non-members may attend the coffee morning sessions for £7.

Saturday sees the staging of the postponed February fun tournament staring at 1.30pm. All are welcome. The prizes have been donated by Sweetie Pix.
At the chairman’s trophy tournament on Saturday, 4th April the club will use “Marion’s bell” for the first time. It will start play and signal the end of play during each round. There will be a tennis club tea after the tournament from 4pm onwards. Players and guests are invited to attend, to commemorate the late Marion Doe’s contribution to the club.
The club needs volunteers to help serve the tea and for contributions of cakes and sandwiches. Call Lindsay Newton on 07825 417 550.
