Jamie Murray turns out for doubles
To the surprise of Congleton Tennis Club, Grand Slam doubles-winning Scot, Jamie Murray, put in an appearance on day three of five days of County Cup tennis on grass at Manchester’s Northern Club.
Congleton’s Alex Grocott and Prestbury’s Pedro Ocana were due to play their final match, carried over due to rain, against North of Scotland, which they anticipated winning.
Cheshire had lost to East of Scotland on day one and were tied at three matches each, with NoS needing two more rubbers to win the points.
