CARTWRIGHT (Stephen Joseph). Passed away on 26th February at Leighton Hospital, Stephen Joseph Cartwright, aged 62 years. A much-loved son to the late John and Marion. HILL (Margaret Elizabeth, “Margo”). Peacefully passed away on Monday, 9th March 2026, while at home in Biddulph Moor with her loving family. She was the devoted and loving wife of Leonard; a cherished mum to Simon, William and Anna and their partners Susanne, Janet and Todd; treasured nan to Daniel, Shane and Natalie, and great nana to Alana. She was also a much-loved sister to Jane, Anna and George, a dear aunt and a good friend to many. After a private committal at Bradwell Crematorium, a service to celebrate her life will take place at New Road Methodist Church on Wednesday, 8th April at 2.30pm. At Margo’s request, please wear some blue or purple, as these were her favourite colours. No flowers by request, donations if desired to RSPB (The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) c/o the Funeral Director. MAWBY (Kathleen Mabel). Passed away peacefully surrounded by love at Macclesfield Hospital on 15th March 2026, Kathleen, aged 83 years, of Congleton. The much-loved wife of Ian; devoted mum to Richard and Claire; and a dearly loved grandma, sister and aunty. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Salford Royal Intestinal Failure Unit or The Christie. The funeral service is to be held at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Tuesday, 7th April at 2pm, followed by a private family interment. MITCHELL (Roy). Peacefully while at home on Monday, 9th March 2026, surrounded by his loving family, Roy, aged 85 years, of Biddulph. The devoted and beloved husband of Sheila; cherished dad of Diane, Paul, Tracey and the late Wendy; dearest father-in-law to Liz and Steve; a cherished granddad and great-granddad; a much-loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle, and a dear neighbour and good friend to many. Roy will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. The funeral service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Wednesday, 15th April at 1pm, prior to interment at Biddulph Town Cemetery. SLATER (Neville). Peacefully on 14th March, 2026, at East Cheshire Hospice, Neville, aged 86 years, of Eaton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of 65 years to Maaike; loving dad of Deborah, Janet and Mary; dear father-in-law of John, Mike and Paul; a much-cherished granddad of Libby, Michael, Maddi, Sarah, Holly and Jonathan, and treasured great-granddad of Mhairi and Caleb. The cortege is to leave his home on Thursday, 16th April at 11.15am for a service and interment at Christchurch, Eaton, at 11.30am. Will relatives please accept this the only intimation; friends wishing to attend should kindly meet at the church. Family flowers only; donations if desired to East Cheshire Hospice.
