BARNETT (Helen, née McCloskey). Helen passed away suddenly on Tuesday 17th March 2026 in the intensive care unit at Macclesfield District General Hospital surrounded by her loving family, aged 67. The cherished wife of Steven; treasured mum to Sarah, Amy, Kerri and Kate; a fantastic mother-in-law to Stefan, Dominic, Daniel and Nathan; a much-loved nana/nannie to Tommy, Charlie, Lillybo, Eadie, Freddie, Theodore, Elsie, Genevieve, Ralph and Harry, and great-nana to Reggie, Teddy, Albert and Joseph; a loving sister to Billy, and an adored auntie and friend to many. Helen will be hugely remembered for her loving, warm, caring personality and full of fun character. She will be so greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Congleton, on Wednesday, 22nd April at 11.30am. Will everyone whose life she touched please accept this notice as an invitation to join us in celebrating Helen’s life. Helen always loved to look her best whether that be her comfy clothes or Sunday best, so the family invite you to choose your outfit accordingly to how you feel best to honour Helen’s bright and beautiful personality. BEARD (Eileen Glover). Passed away peacefully at Priesty Fields Care Home, Congleton, on 26th March 2026, Eileen, aged 97 years, formerly of Scholar Green and former photographer at Keele University. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to All Saints’ Church, Odd Rode. The funeral service is to be held at All Saints’ Church, Odd Rode, on Thursday, 16th April at 11am, following a private committal. DALE (Ivan Ronald). Ivan Dale of Congleton sadly passed away on Friday, 27th March 2026, aged 73 years. Ivan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. His service will take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Wednesday, 15th April at 11.30am. This will be followed by light refreshments at The Railway Inn. EDEES (John). Passed away at home on 21st March 2026, John, aged 86 years, of Congleton. A dearly loved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed. The funeral service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on 21st April at 12.30pm. The family welcome all of John’s friends who wish to attend. Family flowers only, please. KIRK (Valerie, “Val”). Suddenly but peacefully, on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, Val, aged 66 years, of Hassall Green. The loving partner of Norman; treasured mum of Michael and Andrew; a dear mother-in-law of Janine and Sally, and devoted granny of Harriet, Freya, Stanley, Beatrice and Theodore. A service will be held at Bradwell Crematorium on Tuesday, 21st April at 2pm. Will all friends please meet at the crematorium. SEAL (Granville). Granville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 24th March 2026 at his home of 63 years surrounded by his loving family, aged 93. He was the cherished husband of Raye; loving dad to Julie and Martin; much-loved granddad of Dave, Kelly and Laura, and great-granddad to Arthur and Sadie. Granville will be lovingly remembered for his kindness to everyone, his wonderful smile and great sense of humour but mostly for the love of his family. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Northwich, at 10.45am on Friday, 17th April. THOMPSON (Rowena Jane, “Row”). Peacefully at rest on Wednesday, 25th March 2026, while at home, surrounded by her loving family, Row, aged 57 years, of Brown Lees. The beloved and devoted wife of Chris; treasured mummy of Ange and Katie; a much-loved mother-in-law to Timothy; cherished mammar of Layla-Louise and Joshua-Jordan, and a dearest friend and neighbour to many. Row will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A private funeral service will take place. WILLCOCKS (David). David passed away peacefully and with dignity on Friday, 27th March 2026 at East Cheshire Hospice surrounded by his loving family, aged 78. The cherished husband of Ann; loving father to Keren and Shaun; father-in-law to Sarah and Ema; much-loved granddad of Fraser, Elliott and Mariko; a loved and respected uncle, brother and brother-in-law, and friend to many. David will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour, quick wit and way with words. A gentleman with a ready smile and love of travel, music, hiking, railways, and writing. An avid communicator and a deep joy of spending time with family and friends, he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
