Fans turn out to walk the Harry Styles trail in Holmes Chapel, which takes in Twemlow viaduct – and Harry himself has not forgotten.
Holmes Chapel Partnership’s newsletter has reported that when Harry appeared on Brittany Broski’s “Royal Court” show, one of his tasks (apart from dressing up and wearing a crown) was to design his own coat of arms.
He came up with a glitter ball, a reference to his new album “Kiss all the time. Disco, Occasionally”; an alien-looking fish; Jesus in boxing gloves, a piece of art Harry bought when he first came into money but most importantly, the bottom left image depicted the Twemlow Viaduct.
“Interesting that after all the travel, wealth and glamour, he chose it to represent who he is,” said the newsletter.
Harry also recently donated 100 tickets for his tour to Holmes Chapel Comp “a clear indication that the now-global superstar still values his connection to our village,” wrote Karoline Peach in the same newsletter.
In a recent school newsletter, executive headteacher Nigel Bielby said: “Harry was always a kind and caring person when he was here at school and always had good manners, was polite and worked hard.”
Mrs Peach’s son won a ticket in the school ballot, and she wrote: “The atmosphere in the arena reflected the same warmth and enthusiasm I have witnessed among Harry’s fans when they visit the village. There was a pure sense of joy and excitement, with the audience delighted to be connecting through music.
“Watching a former student from our high school perform with such maturity and audience connection was a powerful reminder that ambition, hard work and strong community roots can take young people in whatever direction they choose.”
