The Rotary Club of Congleton bonfire and fireworks display returns to Congleton Park on Saturday, 1st November.
The event has traditionally proved a popular attraction with a capacity crowd of just under 5,000 – the maximum permitted – filling the park.
This year, it will be easier to purchase advance tickets online, using a QR code.
Prices have been held at £22 for a family ticket (two adults and two children aged from five to 16) or £8 for an adult and £5 for a child. Tickets can also be purchased from the information centre at the town hall or at a Rotary gazebo in Bridge Street on two Saturdays, one at the end of this month and the market or on Saturday, 1st November.
Prices are higher on the day or at the entry points to the park on the night.
The organisers said that the online tickets were designed to make entry to the park easier and faster, and with greater security.
The tickets will be read from smartphones using scanners located at each gate.
The option to purchase tickets using cards or cash is retained, but the club is trying to reduce the amount of cash taken on the night, because of the growing problems and costs associated with holding cash and paying it into the bank.
The park will be closed to the public for safety reasons in the afternoon and will open at 5pm.
A torchlight procession led by the mayor and his cadet, together with the Rotary president and supported by the Air Cadets, will light the fire at 6pm.
The first of two displays will follow at 6.30pm with fewer loud bangs, to appeal to the younger children.
The full display will follow at 7.30pm with around 20 minutes of professional fireworks.
As usual, fairground attractions have been booked, and no less than nine food and drink suppliers have been invited.
Sidestalls will feature tombola and a plentiful supply of light sabres, much-loved by the younger children.
