BALL (Betty). At rest on 25th September 2025, at Park Lane Care Home, Betty, aged 95 of Knypersley. A devoted wife to the late Frank and a loving cousin to Sheila. Betty will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. The funeral service will be held at Biddulph Methodist Church on Tuesday, 28th October at 2.30pm followed by an interment at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. BEALE (Wendy). Peacefully on 12th September 2025, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Wendy, aged 83 years, of Mossley. The beloved wife of the late George Beale and a much-loved mum and nanny. The funeral will be on Tuesday, 28th October, with a service and interment at St Lawrence’s Church, Rushton, at 11.30am. GOODWIN (Irene). Peacefully on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, while in the loving care of the nursing staff at Goldenview Care Home, Meir, Irene, aged 91 years, of Biddulph. A beloved and devoted wife, mum, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a very dear friend to many past and present. Irene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family. The funeral service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Wednesday, 22nd October at 1pm prior to interment into Woodhouse Burial Ground. Will relatives please accept this, the only intimation, and would friends wishing to attend kindly meet for the service. HANCOCK (William Albert, MICE, MIC Mun E, LLTCL, LLCM). With great sadness we announce his unexpected but blessedly swift passing. At his home in Congleton, on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, aged 98 years. Husband to Gladys; loved father of Pauline, Susan, Granville and Jane; father-in-law to Dave, John M, John B and Susana; cherished granddad to Mark and Karen, Sarah and Rebecca, Genevieve, David, Sonja, Rory and Eleanor (NZ), Aaron, James and Bethany; beloved great-granddad to Samuel, Megan and Bethan, Basil, Scarlett and Rosie (NZ), Marlo and Quinn (NZ), Phoebe, Alexa and Charlotte (NZ), Blake, Evie, Hunter-Joe and Eden (NZ), Eleanor and Charlotte, Connor and Logan (Bermuda), and Rosie and Holly, and great-great-granddad to Louie, Charlie and Brodie. His was a tremendous, irrepressible and irreplaceable presence, truly larger than life. He will be hugely missed by his family and his many, many friends. Particularly those in music, from the South Cheshire Orchestra, the Newcastle Strings, which he led, the music schools he organised and the many string ensembles he played in. The funeral service will be held at St Thomas’s Church, Mow Cop, on Wednesday, 22nd October at 1pm followed by a committal service at Carmountside Crematorium. Family flowers only. KRAL (Anthony, “Tony”). Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Tony, from Biddulph, formerly of Fegg Hayes, who died peacefully while in the loving care of his family at Royal Stoke University Hospital on 17th September 2025, aged 75 years. The dearly beloved husband of Barbara; devoted dad to Paul and the late Anthony and Simon; a dearest father-in-law and granddad, and a dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend who will be truly missed and was fortified with the rites of the Holy Catholic Church RIP on whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. The funeral service and cremation is to be held at Bradwell Crematorium on Friday, 24th October at 11.20am. Would all relatives and friends please meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only. MANTLE (Graham). Passed away at his home on 20th September 2025, Graham, aged 87, of Oakhanger. NUTTALL (Anthony, “Tony”). Suddenly, following a short illness on Monday 22nd September 2025, Anthony aged 67 years, formerly of Congleton and late of Biddulph. The devoted husband of Linn; loving dad of Clint; treasured granddad of Lily, and a much-loved brother, uncle and friend to many.
