Congleton’s Tree of Light returns this month.
Seasonal decorative shapes are available now at the Congleton Information Centre.
For a minimum donation of just £1, a message can be written to someone loved, lost and remembered at Christmas. The decorations will be hung on the branches of the Christmas tree.
Saturday, 29th November marked the ceremony to light the tree, which will remain lit until 12th Night on January 6th.
Organiser Rtn Jo Lancaster said the £1 minimum donation covered the cost of the decorations. Any extra money received will contribute to Rotary’s charitable work in the community.
The tree lost its uppermost branches in a storm, but that will not detract in any way from the event — and in fact, might help the tree to fill out and add some girth, said the Rotary Club.
