On Thursday, 23rd October, Alsager Golf and Country Club Jazz Society presents Phil Shotton on saxophone and clarinet.
Shotton, who comes from a musical family and began playing at the age of six, is now an experienced performer with a broad repertoire. He regularly works with a range of jazz musicians and has appeared at jazz festivals and venues across the UK and further afield.
In addition to performing, he has released two albums under his own name and contributed to many others as a sideman. His playing spans a variety of jazz styles, including traditional 1920s jazz, swing, bebop, and rhythm and blues.
Joining him on piano is Richard Hughes. His career has included performances in Europe and beyond, notably at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. He also held a six-month residency at a five-star Intercontinental hotel in Cyprus and has performed at the Birmingham Jazz Festival.
Completing the line-up are house musicians Peter Robinson (bass) and Roger Keay (drums).
The music starts at 8pm at the golf club (ST7 2UR). All are welcome — no membership required. Entry is £10 cash on the door, with an optional raffle.
