BAILEY (nee Thorley). Peacefully on 25th January 2026, Barbara aged 91 years. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Ken Bailey; loving mum of Michael; dear mother-in-law of Hazel; cherished nan of Mathew and his wife Christine, and a treasured great-nan of Catherine. CARTLIDGE (Eric). 20th January 2026. Passed away peacefully at Church House, Nantwich, aged 97 years. Eric, the much-loved husband of the late Winnie; dearly loved dad of Janet, Ian, Susan, Andrew and Mark; special father-in-law to Peter, the late Kenny and Julia; beloved granddad to Rachel, Emma, Steven, Simon, Jessica, Lydia, Lisa, Emily and Dianna, and great-granddad of Jack, Louise, Lily, Olivia, Henry, Emily, Annie, Ada, Oscar, Wren and Violet. CHAPMAN (John Howard). At peace on Sunday, 18th January 2026, at Clayton Manor Nursing Home, John, aged 79 years of Congleton. A devoted and beloved husband of Jen; treasured dad of Richard, Andy and Alison; dearest father-in-law to Cluny, Angela and Andrew; cherished granddad of Lucy, Matthew, Poppy, Arthur and George; a much-loved brother of Elizabeth, Ted and the late Bob; a dear brother-in-law and uncle, and a good friend and neighbour to many. HEATH (Elsie May). Peacefully passed away on 17th January 2026, Elsie, aged 93 years, of Biddulph, and formerly of Middleport and Burslem. She was the devoted wife of the late Wallace; dearly loved mum of David and Philip, and a much-loved grandmother. Elsie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Elsie’s life will be held at 10am on Monday, 16th February at English Martyrs Church, Biddulph, followed by committal at Carmountside Crematorium. JOHNSON (Jacqueline). Jackie passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, 24th January 2026, at Royal Stoke Hospital, aged 84, with her son Jim by her side. She was a loving mum to Jim and her much-loved companion Rosie; a loved sister and sister-in-law to Chris and Lanie; a much-loved gran and great-grandma, and a friend to many. Jackie will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humour and warm personality and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Lach Dennis (CW9 7SU) at 2pm on Thursday, 26th February. Passed away peacefully at the East Cheshire Hospice on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, surrounded by her loving family, Angela, of Alsager, and previously of Congleton, aged 61 years. She was the adored wife of Kevin; cherished mum of Rebecca and Shaun; dear mother-in-law of Jodie; treasured nanny of Luca, Isaac, Elijah and Odette; much-loved daughter of Tony and the late Joan, and much-missed sister of Catherine, Mark and Lucie. Angela will be sadly missed by all of the family and friends but fondly remembered. POULTER (Carolyn, 04.11.1944 to 14.12.2025). With great sadness we announce the passing of Carolyn Poulter. Carolyn was the owner of a “Carolyn of Welles Street” Hairdressers in Sandbach town centre. She passed away peacefully in the care of Henning Hall Nursing Home, Macclesfield, aged 81 years. Carolyn will be very sadly missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
