BALL (Arnold “Arnie”). Suddenly at home on Thursday, 29th July, 2021. Arnie, aged 93, former proprietor of Somerford Motors. Devoted husband of Janice and also a loving granddad. Arnie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral service will take place at Vale Royal Crematorium on Wednesday, 18th August at 1pm. HALLIWELL (Frederick Herbert). A dearly loved husband, dad and friend to many. Passed peacefully away on 23rd July, 2021, aged 83. PARKINSON (Joan, nee Gray). At rest on Wednesday, 4th August, 2021, while at home in the presence and loving care of her family, after a long illness fought with great courage and dignity. Joan, aged 92, of Astbury. The dearly loved wife of the late Roy, loving mother of Jill, cherished nana of Emma, Stephen and Gemma, treasured great-nana of Isaac, Alfie and Matthew. Joan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends. Funeral service to take place at St Mary’s Church, Astbury, on Monday, 23rd August at 1pm followed by a private cremation. PEAL (lsabel, Cecilia). At rest on Monday, 26th July, 2021 at Park Mount Care Home, aged 91. Much loved wife of John; loving mum of Hilary, Mary, Sarah and Andrew; granny of Steven, Jenny, Peter, Abi, Charlie, Robbie and Lewis; great-granny of Samuel, Renly, Arlo, Madeleine, Max and Cody; sister of Allan and Ann; and mother-in-law of Peter, Colin, Ron and Barbara. The funeral is to take place on Friday, 27th August, with cremation at Bradwell Crematorium at 11.20am, followed by a service of thanksgiving at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, at 12.15pm, Family and friends are kindly asked to meet either at the crematorium or church. SENIOR (Michael William). Michael passed away on Friday, 30th July, 2021, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, aged 70. The amazing and most wonderful dad to Clare, the adored granddad to Annabel, brother to Keith and former husband to Beryl. Michael will be fondly remembered for the laughs, his witty proverbs and his ability to just listen when you needed it. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, Lach Dennis, CW9 7SU at 1pm on Friday, 20th August. The wake will take place from 4pm at the Queen’s Head in Congleton. SHERWIN (Phyllis). Passed away peacefully on Friday, 30th July, 2021, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Knypersley. Phyllis, aged 99, of Biddulph. The devoted wife of the late Reginald, treasured mum to Barrie, much loved mother-in-law to Vivien, cherished grandma to Richard and David. Much loved great-grandma also devoted auntie to Wendy, Margaret, Derek and David. Phyllis will be sadly missed by all her loving family and many friends. The funeral service will take place at Biddulph Methodist Church on Thursday, 26th August at 11.15am, followed by cremation at Bradwell Crematorium. SMITH (Ada, nee Conway). Passed away peacefully on 2nd August, 2021, at East Cheshire Hospice surrounded by her family. Ada, aged 98, of Congleton. Loved and devoted wife of the late Jack, much loved mum of Jacqueline and Michael, very dear mother-in-law of Stephen and Sandra, treasured nanna, great-nanna and great-great nanna, cherished aunty of Pam and Eddy. TAYLOR (Michael Arthur). Mike passed away peacefully on Saturday, 31st July, 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, aged 71. The beloved husband of Carol, treasured father of Rob, Paula and Chris and adored granddad to Toby, Amber, Zac, Jared, Isaac, Lilac, Asher and Arthur. Mike will be fondly remembered for his warm sense of humour, positive outlook on life and a compassionate and friendly nature and he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be held at Birches Crematorium, near Lach Dennis, on Thursday, 19th August at 1pm. Donations in lieu of flowers are welcomed and can be made to The Woodland Trust. THORLEY (Jeffrey “Big Jeff” “Dinky”). At rest on Sunday, 1st August, 2021, at his home in Biddulph, after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Jeffrey, aged 62, formerly of Brown Edge, devoted and beloved husband to Kay, cherished dad to Kimberley and Benjamin, treasured Gangad to Rose, a dear brother, uncle and friend to many who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. The funeral service will take place at Christ Church, Biddulph Moor on Thursday, 19th August at 11am followed by interment in the churchyard. Will relatives and friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the church. Masks must be worn on entering and leaving the church. WILLIAMS (Albert). Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, 1st August, 2021. Albert, aged 89, of Congleton. WILSON (Dorothy, “Dot”). Dorothy, who resided in Congleton, passed away peacefully at Macclesfield District General Hospital, on 26th July, 2021, aged 73. Dorothy was a devoted wife to Ian, and a dearly loved mother to Simon and Colin. The funeral ceremony will be held at The Birches Remembrance Park and Crematorium on Monday, 16th August at 1pm. WOODWARD (Kathleen). Entered eternal rest on Wednesday, 21st July, 2021, while at RSUH. Kath, aged 78, of Biddulph Moor. Kath will be sadly missed by all her loving family and so many dear friends. We have so many happy memories they often make us smile, we love you, as we miss you all the while, thank you for all you gave us, our love can’t be measured by anything on earth. The funeral service will take place at Oasis Community Church on Friday, 13th August at 1pm prior to a private committal service.
