Death Notices, 18th February, 2021

BELL (John Lawson). Passed away peacefully at Leighton Hospital on 14th February, 2021. John, aged 76, of Haslington. The beloved husband of the late Margaret and dearly loved dad to Sarah and Adrian. Funeral service takes place at Crewe Crematorium on Thursday, 4th March at 1.45pm. BYRD (Doreen Hodgson). Peacefully on 29th January, 2021, at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton, and formerly of Merriefield, Westerham. Doreen, Hodgson, aged 98. The dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Felix Byrd; loving mother of Jennifer, Michael and Hazel; dear mother-in-law of Gill, the late Arthur and the late Alex; cherished grandma of Jonathan, Laurence, Alexandra, Elisabeth and Oliver, and treasured great-grandma of Alexa, Charlie, Adrian and Oscar. The funeral service and cremation take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Wednesday, 10th March. Family flowers only; donations, if desired, via the family to St Mary’s, Westerham, Kent. BYRNE (Gerald Christopher). Christopher, aged 82, of Biddulph, sadly passed away on 27th January, 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Christopher was the loving husband of the late Margaret. Christopher will be sadly missed but remembered by his family and friends. The funeral service take place at 2pm on Thursday, 25th February at St Lawrence’s Church, followed by committal at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. HANLON (Neville Peter). On Thursday, 21st January, 2021, in hospital and of Dingle Lane, Sandbach. Peter, aged 86. The beloved husband of the late Audrey, and a much-loved dad and granddad. Peter was a former local businessman. The funeral service takes place at St Mary’s Church, Sandbach, on Friday, 19th February at noon, prior to interment at Sandbach Cemetery. JENKS (Joyce, nee Heath). At rest on 4th February, 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Joyce, aged 92, of Gillow Heath, and formerly of Congleton, Rough Close and Birches Head. The dearly beloved wife of the late John; very much loved mum of Elaine and Howard; loved mother-in-law of Alan and Elaine, and a treasured nanna of Rachael and Alastair. Joyce will be very fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends. Due to current restrictions, a private funeral service will take place at Carmountside Crematorium. MURRAY (Graham Arnold). Peacefully at home on Friday, 29th January, 2021, with his daughter by his side. Graham, aged 71, of Congleton. Loving father of Robert and Heather. Graham is now reunited with his late wife, Christine and his parents, Arnold and Celia. A private service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Astbury. TUCKER (Pamela, “Pam”). Passed away peacefully on 4th February, 2021. Pam, formerly of Congleton and Church Lawton before settling in Alsager. The dear wife of John Tucker, and much-loved mother of Clive, and partner Marge. The much loved sister of Vic, as well as late sisters, Jean and Enid. Pam will be sorely missed by her family and friends. The funeral takes place on Thursday, 18th February at 12.15pm at Crewe Crematorium. The family have asked for no flowers but, if desired, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research UK, which will be gratefully accepted. Pam is at peace now. WILLIAMS (Eddie). Peacefully after a short illness surrounded by his dearest family on 7th February, 2021, at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Edward, aged 83, of Sandbach. The loving and devoted husband of Jo; dearly loved dad of Steve and David; dearest father-in-law to Diane; cherished granddad of Donna, Becky and Poppy, and great-granddad of Sophia and Isaac, and a dear brother of John. A very dear friend to Sue and Hugh, and a good neighbour to many. Eddie will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. WILLIAMS (Hilda). At rest safe in the arms of Jesus on 25th January, 2021, Hilda, aged 93, of Biddulph. The devoted wife of the late Bill, and dearly loved sister, auntie and great-auntie. Hilda will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. The funeral service will take place at The Village Church, Brindley Ford, on Wednesday, 3rd March, at 11am, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium.
