Death Notices, 21st July 2022

DOWNING. Peacefully at rest on Friday, 8th July 2022, on ward 201 at Royal Stoke University Hospital, after having fought with great courage and dignity, and surrounded by his loving family, Graham, aged 79, formerly of Middleport. The much-loved and devoted husband of Margaret; a dearly loved dad, Pops and dear brother. Graham will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends. The funeral service and cremation is at Bradwell Crematorium on Friday, 29th July at 10am. Will relatives and friends please meet at the crematorium. GASKILL (Jean). Peacefully passed away at Spring Bank Nursing Home on Sunday, 10th July 2022, surrounded by her loving family, Jean, aged 89 years, of Knypersley. The loving wife of Wilf; loving mother of Tony and Stephen; dear mother-in-law of Ruth; grandmother of Louise and James; step mum of Melvyn and Joanne; step grandmother of Sophie, Jemima, Grant and Lloyd, and a dear sister-in-law of Joyce and husband Mark and Janet and husband Gerald. The funeral cortege will leave her own residence on Wednesday, 3rd August for a service at St John’s Church, Knypersley, at 11.15am, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium. Family flowers only; donations preferred in memory of Jean for The Douglas Macmillan Hospice or Alzheimer’s Society, c/o the funeral director. HILL (William Antony “Bill”). Sadly passed away on Monday, 4th July 2022 at home, Bill, aged 64, of Alsager. The dearly loved son of the late George and Jean; loved brother of Margaret; dear brother-in-law of Peter, and a special uncle of David & Katy and Richard. Bill will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. The funeral service and cremation is at Bradwell Crematorium on Monday, 1st August at 10.40am. LARMAN (Myrtle). Myrtle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 6th July at Macclesfield District General Hospital, aged 75. The cherished wife of the late Alan; mother to Andrea and Dawn and adoring nan of Oliver, Samuel, Benjamin and Lucian, as well as loved mother-in-law to Nathan. Myrtle will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, strength of character and love of martial arts. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her. There will be a private cremation, at Myrtle’s request, and a celebration of life will follow in the coming weeks, of which the family will notify friends and colleagues. The family is truly grateful for all the kind messages of condolences and cards that have been sent in Myrtle’s memory. LEA (Constance Margery). Passed away peacefully at Belong Care Home, Macclesfield, on 14th July 2022, Con aged 90 years, of Lower Withington. The much-loved wife of Arthur; loving mother to Wendy, Nigel, Graham and Alison; and a grandmother and great grandmother. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the East Cheshire Hospice and Lower Withington Methodist Church. The funeral service is to be held at Lower Withington Methodist Church on Thursday, 28th July at 11am, followed by interment in the churchyard. YATES (ALFRED CYRIL). Passed away peacefully at Leighton Hospital on 12th July 2022, Cyril aged 92, years of Elworth.
