The Friends of Congleton Park group has unveiled its programme of events for the summer, following its celebrating 20 years of protecting and enhancing the multi-award-winning Congleton Park.
The group’s 20th celebrations during 2025 brought together many acts including The Extractions, Poynton Royal British Legion Band, Congleton Choral Society, North Staffs Accordion Band, Lions Youth Brass Band, Rode Hall Silver Band, Beartown Singers and The Encores.
More than 1,500 people were entertained at events during 2025 when the park celebrated its anniversary in style.
The concerts were possible thanks to the support of Congleton Town Council and Congleton Inclosure Trust.
The annual Brass on the Grass musical bandstand programme brings a collection of the finest local music groups on several Sunday afternoons.
This has expanded over the years with more than brass bands now offered.
The summer started on Sunday with local popular band The Extractions, performing popular music from the 60s through to the 00s on Sunday, 2.30pm to 4.30pm on the bandstand, joined by Ruby’s Fund.
The Brass on the Grass programme will continue throughout the summer with the performances from Lions Youth Brass Band on Sunday, 5th July; Rode Hall Silver Band, Sunday, 26th July; a saxophone quartet on Sunday, 2nd August; Beartown Singers on Sunday 9th, and North Staffs Accordion Band on the 23rd. All free concerts are 2.30pm–4.30pm.
Chairs will be available to hire for the afternoon.
